Internet and Technology bring Social Media into every aspect of our life and  society. Humans are now bound very strongly to this Social Media. It brings changes in human behaviors and the behavior of society.

Social media is a platform where humans can access more mass news and have the ability to get an intimate view of other’s cultures and places. With these types of pieces of information, people can also improve their communication skills. People become more open-minded as a result of social media, and mutual respect develops between people from various backgrounds. Creators of social media content encourage individuals to pursue their passions and develop new skills. As a results in a positive impact on human behavior . Traditional media was the only way to contact people in this era. People are unable to share their thoughts and facts with others. People benefit from social media because it promotes democracy and equality. So they can send their content to a large audience. Now minorities and the vulnerable have their voice. Now women have the voice to give their opinions through social media. People are now expressing their views to the government and society. There is an example of Twitter a social media platform, by hashtags , society is pushing the government to do their duties. This results the positive impact of social media on society.

Social media is making many people celebrities, encouraging other people to be and results in egoistic behavior of people. It is also encouraging the violent behavior of people on social media. By concealing their identities, people can now easily harass and threaten others. This results in cybercrimes. Especially teens suffer from depression and anxiety due to cybercrimes. Many people are showing their talent on  social media which results in suffering of  young generation from low self-esteem. People and groups can become enraged as a result of social networking. There is a huge collection of makeup videos on YouTube which results in girls giving too much importance to their beauty. Fake news causes panic among people and results in clashes among communities. Social media is causing damage to the character of people. Here contents go viral in seconds but not all are reliable. There are many incidents of murders of innocent people due to fake news. Powerful people are using social media as a tool for the implementation of their ideologies. The most accurate example is Political Parties. Nowadays materialism is encouraged the most by social media.

 

Data mining uses social media as a tool. This demonstrates how social media has a negative impact on human behavior and society.

As social media has some negative aspects but it has many positive aspects also. Its negativities can be resolved. These issues can be solved by the combining effort of Cyber Protection Cells and Artificial Agencies. We must imbibe ethical values in schools and colleges. Awareness is very important and we must arrange awareness programs that help people to know about the good and bad sides of Social Media. And we have to learn the safe use of Social Media.
