Definition:

Psychology is the science of mind and behavior of human being and animals.

 

Explanation:

The word psychology is derived from Greek word psyche which mean soul and logos which mean science. So from this point of view we can call psychology as a science of soul. It is the science of application and description used for the prediction, development, and improvement of human behavior. It is the study of mind in relation to any field of knowledge or activity. It is originally the branch of philosophy. There are many area of psychology, each of them explain behavior from different perspective.

In psychology new branches emerge from time to time. It is important factor to be kept in mind that no branch/type of psychology is more important than the other branch or type of psychology. Each branch/type has their own factor that influences who are human beings, how they behave and how they think.

There are various types of psychology; each of them has its own purpose.

There are no particular ways to classify them but we can make some common types.

 

 

Behavioral Psychology:

For example: In most of the cases the teacher uses a reward system in the class. Students who are good in study teachers give rewards to them.

This type emerged in the mid-20th century. In this type of psychology we study that how people think, remember and learn. The psychologist working in these fields mainly focus on the brain of the human being.

Developmental psychology focus on how the human change and grow throughout their whole life. In this type of psychology psychologist normally study about the intellectual growth, physical growth, changes in emotion of the person and social growth of the person.

Educational psychology deal with the school, teaching method, educational issues, and the student concerned. In this type of psychology, psychologist normally study about that how the outcomes of student can be improved.

In this case psychologist used various technique for doing research they may perform experiment on checking the behavior of various students of universities, collages, and school or by co relational study or case study.
